Project Description
Project Brief
Virgin Bet have burst in to the betting space over the last couple of years, promoted by a number of big racing sponsorships including the ever popular Ayr Gold Cup meeting in September. Having looked after branding on the course for some of the previous sponsors, we were delighted to be returning to Ayr and putting all our knowledge of the site to good use for the new backer.
The lovely large parade ring surrounded by the lawns and white witches-hat marquees is the perfect background for Virgin Bets bright red livery, with plenty of space for low level parade ring boards, high level lollipop boards and Ayr’s double sided presentation podium.
The handicap races for Ayr Gold Cup
The Ayr Gold Cup meeting is famous for the three big sprint handicap races – the Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups, run over the straight 6 furlong course. With a maximum 27 runners per race, there is always plenty of camera time when the horses are loading in the stalls, so we created a whole run of banners around the back of the chute, so no matter which horse was the focus the banners were always in the background on the TV.
On the main straight, we installed a number of large course boards to show as the horses head to the winning line, and then built row of run in and pull up boards around the 8′ high finish device boards. A large grass mat was placed behind the finish for the high level cameras.
We also installed some eye-catching hanging promotional branding in the grandstands.
With other sponsorships at Sandown, Doncaster and Newbury, we will be working with Virgin Bet going forward to help them get the maximum brand exposure from their sponsorships both on TV screens and on-course.
